Acting as sponsor, developer, co-developer or third party consultant, we utilize our comprehensive experience and knowledge of all facets of multifamily, student and mixed-use development to understand the goals of the project, the needs of the market, and the steps necessary to ensure success for all stakeholders.
Conceptualization

It's our job to evaluate and navigate your market, laying out a path to deliver a successful project that meets your standards -- and ours. We explore project feasibility and analyze financial structures, creating a plan that meets everyone's needs.
Implementation
We start by selecting the design team that is right for the job. From there, Charter can take the lead on design management, overseeing the construction process, creating a leasing and management plan, and evaluating project success. We're committed to seeing our projects through from an idea to a delivered project -- on time and within budget.
Miles Hill
President
Miles Hill serves as President and CEO of The Charter Companies providing direction for strategic planning of development and consulting activities as well as overseeing day to day activities for the company he founded.
Utilizing his more than 25 years’ experience in the multifamily real estate business, he has been responsible for the development of more than 40 multifamily, student and affordable housing developments across the Southeastern United States. In his role with The Charter Companies , he is responsible for the overall business strategy and business development, negotiating partnerships, capitalization sourcing and project delivery.
Mr. Hill has extensive experience in various real estate financing products, including conventional bank financing, federally insured programs, agency loans, LIHTC financing and other various government programs. He has acted as the sole developer, co-developed and acted as development consultant on a wide variety of successful multifamily projects.
Mr. Hill is a graduate of Millsaps College where he was a member of the varsity tennis team. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the NAHB Multifamily Council, the National Apartment Association and the National Multihousing Council. He serves a Director and volunteer tutor for the Boys & Girls Club of Lee County. He has on a number of occasions spoken at national trade conferences and as a guest lecturer on real estate development at Auburn University McWhorter School of Building Science.
Miles and his family reside in Auburn, Alabama. He holds a private pilot’s license and enjoys spending time with his family as well as tennis, piano and cycling.
